How I Support Agencies
Many agencies are brought in to solve problems that have not been properly defined. Clients arrive with ambition, pressure, and competing viewpoints, but without clarity on what problem they are actually trying to solve.
The result is familiar. Briefs shift. Feedback becomes subjective. Work is revised repeatedly. Teams lose confidence. (I know, I’ve been there!) The agency ends up compensating for a lack of strategic clarity upstream.
This is where I am typically brought in.
I work alongside creative and marketing agencies to support their clients with executive-level brand strategy, focusing first on problem framing and positioning clarity. The aim is to ensure that the brief is strategically sound before creative or executional work begins.
My role is to help define the core brand strategy elements that underpin a strong brief:
- Clear brand positioning and market focus
- A shared understanding of purpose and value proposition
- Strategic priorities and constraints
- Alignment at leadership level on what success looks like
This work creates a clear strategic frame that agencies can confidently translate into creative, campaigns, and delivery. It reduces ambiguity, limits subjective feedback, and enables teams to produce stronger work first time.
I integrate discreetly into the agency-client relationship, supporting senior strategy conversations, working directly with client leadership teams where appropriate, or collaborating closely with agency leads. The objective is always the same: clarity before execution.
For agencies working with sustainability-led or regenerative-focused clients, this clarity is particularly important. Purpose-driven ambitions often introduce complexity and competing interpretations. Strong brand strategy ensures those principles strengthen the brief rather than complicate it.
This is not freelance delivery or creative execution. It is brand strategy support designed to protect the quality of the brief, align stakeholders early, and give agencies the conditions they need to do their best work.
If you are an agency leader looking to improve briefing quality, reduce rework, and bring senior-level brand strategy into complex client engagements, let’s talk about how I can suppport your team.
